Dear All,

We were so sorry to hear that Johnny passed away. I got to know Johnny first as a child when he visited us in Sligo. The friendship continued to this day, to the point that Johnny officiated at our wedding in Dublin in 2006. He gave us a silver dollar that day to be used as the piece of silver during the ceremony.

Johnny was a gas man and a gentleman. We will miss him.

Apologies that we won't make it to his funeral but we we will be thinking of him.

RIP Johnny.

Dear Padraic, Mick, Andy, Bridie, Evelyn and Families,

Eileen and I were shocked and saddened when we heard that Johnny had passed. While we knew that he was battling health issues, we never expected such sad news.

Johnny will be always remembered as a dear friend and a member of the family. I first got to know Johnny about 80 years ago when I started school in Castlegrove NS. I have great memories of those times. He was a year ahead of me and I was in your sister Mary's class. The lifelong friendship began there.

From Castlegrove we went to the Brothers in Tuam. Johnny stayed there and I jumped ship and went to the Technical School in Tuam. After school we went our separate ways. I think I may have been encouraged to follow the Coen Brothers down their career path.

Johnny and Mick were frequent and welcome visitors to us in Sligo for at least 50 years. They never failed to call when they were home from the USA and Africa. I remember on one occasion when Johnny was visiting in the early 1970's, my daughter Nicola who was only a child, making her way slowly onto Johnny's knee one arm and leg at a time.

We have so many memories that we could go on forever.

Suffice to say Johnny we will miss you but we will meet again some day. Rest in Peace dear friend.
