As my dear Fr. John Butler SDB is laid to rest, I fondly recall the happy memories I now treasure more than ever. Thank you Fr John for being my spiritual father at a time I needed it most. Thank you for being my facilitator of learning and for the countless moments of imparting your valuable knowledge.

To the Butler Family and Salesian community, may The Almighty indeed comfort you. May the life and legacy of Fr Jack continue to live forth through all who was touched by his life.

Very fond memories of Fr Butler from his time teaching at Pallaskenry in the sixties. Fr Butler (or Johnny Butt as he was affectionally referred to) was an excellent educator who treated all he encountered with the greatest respect. He was held in very high esteem by all the pupils at Pallaskenry and was always spoken of very fondly by past pupils. The end of an era and the celebration of a life well lived. I was fortunate to meet him in Pallaskenry in January 2020 and to express my appreciation for his work as a teacher and a friend to all. My sincere condolences to his family and friends and to the Salesian Community.
