I was so very sorry to hear of Father Joe's death. I was fortunate enough to be his parishioner twice, in both Mudgee & Canowindra in Australia. Both towns loved him, whether people were Catholic or not. He had an unfailing sense of humour
and never forgot a name. Thankyou for sharing such a kind man & dedicated Priest with us in Australia. He is much missed & will remain in our prayers.

Uncle Joe, may you rest in peace! You were a kind and Loving Uncle Who Ministered to his Flock, Community & Family from The Heart, and with great heart!
My abiding memories are of a Gentle Man, with a great sense of humour who loved his family and friends unconditionally, and approached life with levity, Grace and a quiet unspoken Love for fellow humans, despite Our shortcomings. He was unfailingly generous of Spirit & of mind, and a great man to reflect with through moments of doubt in life, I always came away from every (many long) conversations with a calmer sense of self, and a belief, not just a feeling...that all was well.. a true inspiration and Gentle Human being, May You rest in peace, and May your service to others less fortunate be your defining reward, Much Love Xx David

Uncle Joe, we were so lucky to have such a warm and loving Uncle like you. You always gave the greatest hugs and we always looked forward to your trips home and the latest technology you would bring us. It was an experience caddying with you and Uncle Brendan on the golf courses in Dunfanaghy, memories that will stay with me forever. So sad that you have slipped into your eternal rest so suddenly but so thankful that we had you all these years. Some of the Dooley’s are now reunited in your nightly games of “flop” again. Thanks for everything and may you Rest in Peace.
With loving memories Joanne, Niall, Cillian and Senan

Uncle Joe you were one of the best. As kids we loved your trips home, you always spoke to us kids as adults and were the most loving and generous uncle who gave me my first Walkman! I loved our long distance chats when we just had Timmy 3 years ago and I’d be on long walks while he napped. Your laugh and sense of humour will be remembered, and my friends from growing up always remember the “cool priest” who cursed! Rest in peace with granny, grandad, Brendan, Mary and Claire.
