Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the McSweeney family. We truly have such lovely memories of Fr. Liam, his stories always capitative a room from loosing the youth detention center keys to the GAA. Outside of lighting up a room, Fr Liam was also one of the most empathetic and loving people we have ever meet; he dedicating so much of his time to the mental and spiritual wellbeing of those incarcerated. He played such an integral role in our lives from marrying us to thanksgiving dinners. He will be truly missed and loved forever!

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Fr Liam and we offer our heartfelt condolences to his brother Paddy, his sister Noreen and the extended McSweeney family. We first met Fr Liam in 1996 when we got married in Sacramento. He was a great friend to us while we were there, looked after us so well, took us to so many interesting places and introduced us to so many lovely people. He visited us every year after that on his annual trip home to Ireland where he continued to regale us with his many stories and funny encounters. He was so positive....so genuine....so decent....so interesting. The world will be a sadder place without him, he will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace Fr Liam.
