I am much saddened to learn of Loughlin's death. I first met him at a harvest service in Abington a few years ago. After that he dropped in sometimes when he was nearby on pastoral visits or in the graveyard. Like so many, I enjoyed his WhatsApp ministry through Covid. A gentle, kindly man and a gracious priest he will be much missed. Heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, colleagues and parishioners.

My deepest sympathies to the Brennan family and our dear Fr Tom on the sad and sudden passing of our lovely PP, Fr Lottie.
I got to know him first in 2017, when he anointed my dying father. From then on- especially 18 months later, when my mother also passed away- he became a dear and firm friend to me.
His uplifting, early-morning texts were always something to start the day on a positive note.
He was also someone I had the pleasure of meeting regularly in my professional life, being a regular, welcome visitor to our staffroom.
He was always up for the craic and banter and he was adored by pupils and staff alike. There is a cloud over our school since the sad news broke last weekend and he will be sorely missed by us all.
Fr Lottie, thank you for your wonderfully compassionate nature and your positive affect on all you met- you were a very special person and we’ll never forget you.
May you rest in eternal peace in your heavenly home, as you richly deserve.
God bless you always.
