My prayers and sympathies to Fr Pat's friends and Fr Louis and Fr Tommy. Fr Pat was a great welcoming host when I visited Mississippi. Mass offered today.

Fr Pat was a great host when l spent a summer in the Southern states many years ago. I enjoyed meeting all his friends in Biloxi Mississippi. He was well loved there.
My best memories are the rounds of golf we played in Ballybunion and Newcastle West. We loved to take the money off him. He didnt enjoy handing it over!!!!!
My sympathies to all his cousins and great friends.

Fr Pat loved his parishioners, was mad about his golf and loved a good bargain. We had some great chats and laughs during my time in Mississippi and I was lucky enough to have him perform my marriage ceremony back in 2007. May he rest in peace.

Fr Pat welcomed and looked after us every year. Brought us golfing and meeting so many of the people in that part of Mississippi. We marvelled at the obvious love and attachment he had with everyone. Especially with Frs Tommy and Louis his equally welcoming close friends and colleagues.
He was, to use a phrase, a mighty man. The world is poorer without him. As we are.

Truly there are no words…no words to express the deep appreciation of Mississippi Catholics for what Fr. Pat and all the Irish priests have given to our mission state of Catholics. I have often said that, had it not been for the priests from Ireland over the decades, we likely would not have a Catholic Church in Mississippi. While we are enormously grateful for what all of the priests…and many, many sisters…have given to us, we know that their families in Ireland also have given so much as well. The sacrifice of sending your loved ones across the Atlantic to be of service and to grow the faith here is an enormous gift to us. Truly there are no words to thank you adequately, but we will ask our good and gracious God to thank you as only He can and shower you with His richest blessings.

First met Fr .Pat in 1996. Was on a visit to Gulfport to visit my brother, Fr Pat Mc Dermott, ( now RIP) who was a Pastor there. My brother and Fr Pat O Shaugh were good friends . Fr Pat had many many stories about his native Limerick . He was great company and enjoyed the crack . May he TIP.

I first met Fr Pat in 2001 when I did a show at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi with Lord of the Dance. I remember leaving the venue after the show and there was Fr Pat at the stage door asking if there was anyone from Limerick in the show and from that night on a friendship was born and was so good to all of us for the remainder of our 9 month stay in Biloxi. One stand out memory of Biloxi was the time when my brother Timmy came to visit and Fr Pat put him up for his stay. He went above and beyond for him and they clicked straight away. We suddenly lost my brother Timmy in January just gone and I have been thinking back to that time so fondly recently.
We always stayed in touch , met up when he was home in Ireland and he was only delighted when I finally met a man and he was only more delighted he was a golfing man and was dying to marry me off. Unfortunately by the time I did Fr Pat was sick but I remember when I got engaged I said to myself I want Fr Pat to marry us. I’ve missed the chats over the last few years but know you are at peace now and most definitely having a laugh up there with my brother Timmy over that eventful trip he made to Biloxi Mississippi in 2001.

Our 1st contact with Fr.Pat was December 2022 when he rang our home to tell us our daughter had been killed in a road traffic accident, then he made the journey home with our daughter, the love and support he gave us then was unbelievable, we became friends and he kept in contact, especially ringing every year on her anniversary, Fr. Pat was a loving caring gentleman, he will always be in our thoughts, we're thinking of his family and friends in Ireland and Mississippi at this very sad time, Rest in Peace Fr. Pat, hope your golfing with the Angels.
