I am saddened to hear of Fr Paddy's death. I was an altar server in Glasnevin when Fr Paddy served there in the 60's. He was a wonderful priest and friend to me and so many of my peers.
He brought me to Glenstal Abbey at the time that he was discerning his vocation as a missionary and I was about to enter the Marists. We had many happy times together and corresponded frequently when he was in Kitui. May the Lord reward him for all the good he did. RIP

I first came across Fr O Reilly in the Arklow Tech.in the late 1950 s when he was a part time religious teacher.. As well as parish duties he was responsible for setting up a Boys Club (The girls were looked after by the nuns in the Girl Guides) Living in Rural Arklow I was unable to join the Club and shortly after took the EMIGRANT BOAT to England. Through a good friend in Arklow I was kept up to date with what was happening back in Arklow. Father o Rielly organised Annual Camps to verious parts of Ireland, tapped the local business community for funds and sponsorship and directed drama & musicals to raise money for a new roof on the Church !,! Being a member of the Kiltegan Fathers I believe he went to Africa as a Missioner. ARKLOWS LOSS AFRICA'S GAIN . RIP
