So sorry to hear of Fr Satan’s death. RIP.
I gave very fond memories of him as my French Teacher, 1956-62, and indeed afterward also. He was a very broad minded man also, not bound by convention but willing to help at all times.

I knew Stan from his time at St. Mary’s College, Twickenham. As always with him, he had more than one job and managed to do many things at the same time, sometimes with hilarious consequences.

In addition to his duties at Strawberry Hill, he was the Roman Catholic Chaplain at Feltham Borstal. On Saturdays, Sundays he would give classes, make visits to individual prisoners and say Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. Feltham in those days was a depressing 5 house institution, each housing different types of offender. It was tough, unremitting and necessary work. One of his tricks of the trade was to at least walk through each house on a Saturday with his Roman collar on thus ensuring that the R.C. Chaplain was a clear and visible presence. Stan was clear about his role in the Borstal too: he was chaplain to all in the Borstal, prisoner and officer alike. His wonderful charism and commitment should be remembered about his ministry.

Stan was a wonderful friend and l shall remember him with fondness and for his wonderful commitment to those he taught and ministered.

To his family, fellow Vincentians and friends, sympathies. Stan was a man of great faith. I am sure he will be enjoying his reward in heaven.

I shall watch the service online.

May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of the death of Father Stan, my enthusiastic French teacher back in the '60s. I was not one of his success stories, but I remember him trying very hard, and that was much appreciated. Condolences to the family, and the Vincentian Community

I first met Fr Stan about 65 years ago in St Conleth’s school where he was introduced as the school’s first vocation to the priesthood and last met him at his cousin’s Tom Davitt’s CM funeral both of whom had a marvellous influence during my six years in Castleknock .
I have of course happy memories of Fr Stan and my abiding one is of people queuing to ask him for the birthday sleep in and he responding (whilst giving it) you should be up at Mass thanking God.for yourself!

Deepest condolences to the family and close friends of the late Fr. Stan Brindley C.M. As a teaching chaplain at St. Mary’s Teacher Training College, Strawberry Hill London in the seventies Stan’s influence was immense. Since his passing was announced, he is remembered with great fondness by a high number of past students, many who attribute some of the success of their long teaching careers to Stan. His guidance in educational and spiritual matters was inspirational. There are many stories remembered of which Stan’s lively and most helpful character feature fully in the college life of Strawberry Hill. No doubt after he left St. Mary’s he continued to influence and assist others at home and abroad. A life well spent dedicated to the service of others. (John T. Tynan, Simmarian Student, 1970’s).
