The sad death of Tom has evoked in me happy memories of our boyhood days in a Newbridge that has long since gone. Tom followed the footsteps of his illustrious uncle, Fr. Fr. Tom was a special friend to the whole Lochrin family - across generations. He and Helen really appreciated & enjoyed each other's company- always a kind, interesting and engaging friend to meet, whose company we enjoyed on every occasion. From Mark &Owen’s visit to Stornoway, and our visits to Edinburgh & Stone.
He was a wonderful storyteller and connected us with the Degenfelds & De Franclieu who became our friends too.

From John Gallivan, a classmate of Tom's in Patrician Bros. primary and Newbridge College Secondary. We met a few times in the last 3 years in England. I recently visited Tom's former church in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. He is highly regarded by the parishioners there because he played a key part in having their church rebuilt after a fire.

The Corrigan and Kearns families were neighbours on Main Street Newbridge. Fr Tom kept in touch with the family throughout the years. He sent such lovely, kind comforting words to the family following the deaths of Laura, Kathleen and Rita in the past 3 years. He spoke of his childhood memories on Main Street.
