First met him in 1993 when he said Mass for my mother at the request of a friend, and was delighted when he moved to Ballinlough Parish. Over the years sent Christmas cards and was surprised to get ones in return with his prayers – and he must have had a long list!
His funeral Mass was a beautiful tribute by all involved to celebrate his long and fruitful life

We were very sorry to hear of Fr. Vincent`s passing, a gentle kind man who was a good friend to our family for many years. We have such fond memories of Fr Vincent from his weekly visits to our home in Riverstick on his way back from Haven Bay, trips to the Barn restaurant even travelling to Rome and visiting the Vatican city with him. He was great company, told the most wonderful stories each having a beautiful meaning. We both also shared our love of gardening, had many discussions on which plants to set and every summer he was so proud showing off his lovely garden when it was in full bloom. It was a pleasure to have known Fr Vincent, he will be missed by everyone who knew him. Our sincere condolences to the Pallottine Community, the Kelly family Ballinlough, his neighbours, cousins and friends, we are thinking and praying for you all at this sad time. I`m sure the gates of heaven were wide open when they saw Fr. Vincent coming, may his gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.

Deepest sympathy to Fr Kelly's family & friends & the Pallottine Community on Fr Vincent's death. Fr Vincent did so much good work for the Pioneers in Cork. I remember meetings in his house in Blackpool and later in Ballinlough where he filled us with energy and zeal for the promotion of temperance that still remains with us today. He was involved in setting up the Cork Diocesan Committee in 1994 and organised the first annual Diocesan Pioneer Mass that is still celebrated every year. He used his brilliant PR skills promoting the Pioneers and had a great way with young people. May God reward him for all his good works.

Vincent was a walking Saint here on earth.
There were no questions asked at the pearly gate but a bright green light beckoned him to his rich reward. I knew Vincent from my time in Upper Mayfield and was there when he celebrated his Golden Jubilee. He was a lovely gentle man but also who knew what he wanted.

He was so kind to the sick and loved ministering to people in all walks of life. Of course he talked warmly of his time in Argentina.

He had a great capacity for friendship and loved his garden very much.

May Vincent have that peace which passes all understanding. RIP

Fr. V was the sweetest man. We were so lucky to have him as our Chaplin at BCS all those years ago. He had a deep faith and shared it with us in a gentle way that helped me on my faith journey. He married Bill and I when we went home to be married in 1991 and has kept in touch with us since. I will miss his email cards he sent on special occasions but it makes me smile to think of him finally getting to meet Jesus in person, Rest in peace Fr. V. We will miss you❤️

I will remember Vincent for his kindness, his beautiful simple faith, his sense of humour and his hearty laugh, his deep love of his parishioners, his gardening and photography skills, his love of stories and his engaging homilies and above all for his simple approach to living life to the full.
