My sincere condolences to Eamon's sisters and brothers on the sad loss of your dear brother. I have many happy memories of Eamon when we 'soldiered' together in St Nathy's almost sixty years ago. We shared an interest in Irish history and he also tried his hand at writing poetry -- I think I have some examples hidden away somewhere. Fear é a raibh an-dúil sa Ghaeilge aige, agus go háirithe sa scéalaíocht. I saw him just a couple of times over the past half-century, but I was delighted to meet him at the Swinford History Conference in March 2019. We had a long chat, recalling the days of long ago, and he told me about his 'Little Book of Mayo', which I bought soon afterwards and greatly enjoyed. Go ndéana Dia grásta ar a anam uasal, cneasta. Leaba i measc naoimh na hÉireann go raibh aige. Nollaig Ó Muraíle
