To Anne, Geraldine, Marie, Colm, Sharon and extended family, I was very sorry to hear of Frank's recent passing. Calling into Frank's shop at Murragh morning and evening punctuated our school days and was one of our daily highlights. It was the shop that had everything packed into a tidy space; you never knew what you would find but you could find whatever you needed. Frank would appear somewhere behind stacks of stock, patiently waiting as we deliberated over which penny sweets or chocolate bars to buy that day. He was a quiet and dignified man, never pushy, who knew not to engage in small talk (unless you really wanted to). My mother would hand in her weekly grocery list and without fuss he would fulfil the order, totting up the bill in his head. He served his community well; he will be missed. May he rest in peace.
