We in the Glen Theatre Drama Group, Banteer were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our great friend Frank . What an honour it was to have Frank take to the stage with us In Banteer over the past number of years . We all looked up to him and admired his acting qualities yet , he never saw himself as a professional or better than anyone else but gave help and guidance to everyone young and old . His wit and comedy both on and off the stage made him a unique character . We are proud to call him a friend and in recent years one of our own . Cork and Ireland has lost a fantastic character , kind soul , but above all a gentlemen . We extend our sympathy to his family - Frank our dear friend May you rest in peace x

Worked with Frank in the 70's in the GPO in Cork with Dept of PT.
We were bout same age and both Norrie's. He would say joking with a posh ascent .
I'm from Citadel road (Cathedral road) ,everyday was fun. Frank during working hours perfecting his dancing routines with the Montfort's or singing or the Cork accents. There were great characters working in the GPO that he learnt from and perfected his trade from. We had great nights out with him ,that people later paid to see him in the Opera house.
Rest in peace Frank old buddy ,Well deserved.

Shocked and saddened at the untimely passing of Frank. While I can't say that I was a Bosco fan, it was through his antics on Bull Island that I first acquainted myself with Frank Twomey. His comic timing and superb characature really entertained us while that series aired. I had the privilege of getting to know him personally through his involvement with the Glen Theatre group in Banteer. He even obliged us by adjudicating at the GAA SCÓR competitions on a few occasions. His presence on Joe Duffy's funny Friday was always to be looked forward to, and savoured.
Cork has had more than it's fair share of Comics over the years many sadly no longer with us, Billa, Paddy Comerford, Michael Twomey and Frank Duggan aka Cha and Miah to name but a few, but Frank Twomey was up there with the best of them, and will always be remembered as such. The Country will be a more sombre place in Frank's absence but that you may have the angels in the same floods of tears of laughter that we enjoyed while you were with us. Ar dheis Dé go raibh tú
— Jerry Doody, Millstreet.
