So sorry that Gary has passed away, long before his time.
He was one of life's great characters on the rugby fields. in CCB or around Brecon and we have so many fond memories.
You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Gary captured everyone who came into his orbit. Growing up with Gary in Kilkenny all those years ago was formative. He was a force of nature who never went unremarked and his place in the hearts of all he shared time with will not be filled. Happy memories of fun , song and craic are aplenty that left one with a smile and a sore stomach from laughter be they here or in America . He was a beacon of light that lite up the life of all of us who knew him . Ye’r loss is immense Carol but may the joy that Gary has brought comfort you in these difficult times .

My deepest condolences to Carol and family on the passing of Gary. A larger than life character that brought a smile to all who came in contact with him. I will remember our time together at Manhattan College with fond memories and that I was able to spend a lot of time getting to know him. He will be sadly missed by all but never forgotten. Sincere sympathy to Gary's wife and family at this awful time. We have lovely memories of meeting Gary in Sacramento California in 2011 at the World Masters where Gary won a silver medal in the hammer. We had a free day during the competition and spent the day touring with Gary. We had such fun and laughs and he was so kind to our daughter Clodagh who was 11 at the time. He gave her a pair of sunglasses which she still has!! We never did meet again unfortunately but did chat a few times on the phone and often recall the great time we had in Sacrament made extra special by having met Gary .You are in our thought and prayers at this very sad difficult time. May his lovely generous soul rest in peace.

He was a born leader who cared about his teammates and was a role model for us all! We cheered for him when he tossed a hammer or charged with a ball, wearing Rockwell, Manhattan, London Irish, etc. or Ireland jerseys because he always gave his best! Shocking news. I taught with Gary at St George’s where he was a great and much-loved character. I have many fond memories of his time there - he added so much to the life of the school and his sense of fun lifted all us teachers in the staff room.
