We watched as the heartbreaking but beautifully played instrumental rendition of Metallica's "Nothing else matters" set the scene for Gary's exit from the Cathedral of the Assumption in Thurles today. Gary's casket was surrounded by the women in his life, his grieving mother Martina, relatives & friends, a final gesture of the maternal care he was accustomed to. For all those he loved & left behind, he gifted you all with joyous memories to cherish. I hope you find comfort in that. My heart goes out to Gary's family & friends, especially Martina, Pat & James. My son Luke is truly heartbroken. Inconsolable. He is missing his kind, humorous, talented & compassionate friend dreadfully. He was very much loved & appreciated.
