I enjoyed 4 years of Physics with Geoffrey at St Augustine's and I am truly sad at his passing. He tried his best to attend our first school reunion but bad weather blocked his way. He was sorely missed then, for his gentle humour and warmth, and no-one among us had a bad word for Joker Jeff, ever.
— Mark Brennan
Sincere sympathy to Lesley and family on the sad loss of your dad.
— Bill &Cait Lanigan
I was sad to hear about Geoff's Passing. He was my first Head of Physics and provided me with much guidance and support. I have many fond memories of my time teaching at St Augustine's and Geoff's kindness and friendliness count amongst them. My sincere condolences.
— Norman Jackson

I was so sorry to hear of Geoff's death, God rest him. We were on the staff together at St Augustine's, Gatley, and I have vivid memories of him when we talked by the sink in the staff room over a cup of tea. He was a gentle and kindly soul, good to know.
— Fr Peter Phillips
Our sincere condolences to all the Beeley family at this sad time.
— Bert Robinson Margaret
Dear Auntie Margaret, Sarah, Lesley , Erica, and family.
So sorry that Uncle Geoff has passed. My thoughts are with you all. My earliest memories are of Sarah and I spending summer holidays passing between Cheadle Hulme and Yorkshire. On one occasion Uncle Geoff had constructed a tree house in the back garden and Sarah and I played out many adventures. We also went to Anglesey, and I remember having a fire on the beach and cooking sausages and beans. There was also Uncle Geoff's passion for Scottish Country dancing and this was the theme for the 30th wedding anniversary celebrations , Uncle Geoff wheeling round the dancefloor! Probably the last time we were all together was , sadly, for the funeral of Uncle Gilbert. However Uncle Geoff held everyone's attention as we sat in our garden on a bright summer's day. He told the story of him accompanying the chief test pilot on a flight of the early Vulcan bomber , no co-pilot. Quite what would have happened if the pilot had passed out mid flight!
A lovely man, with a sharp wit. Rest in peace Uncle Geoff.
— Mark Bielby
At St. Augustine's, Geoff was a kind, humble and unassuming teacher whose wit was appreciated by fellow staff and students. He will be a great loss to his family and you will all be in our prayers at this sad time.
— Jim McCabe
Very sorry for your loss. Geoff taught me physics in the early 70’s - he was a great teacher and I remember him as very kind with a great sense of humour. He made a big impression on me and helped me on my way. Thinking of him with fond memories.
— Trevor Baglin
My very first 'proper' job was at St.Augustine,s / St John Plessington, in the late 1970's early 1980's when Geoff Beeley was head of Physics, so I remember him well as I was also in the Science Dept (Biology). He was always pleasant and cheerful,( although me being so young, I didn't know him that well) and I am sad to hear that his life has ended, and send you my sincere condolences.
I already support the RNLI in Cornwall, where I have a cottage, so will make a donation to them in his name.
— Linda Dolata
Sarah,
You, Lesley, Erica and your Mum are in my thoughts at this time. I was so sad to hear about your Dad, passing. I remember him being a quiet guy but someone who was always thinking and knowing the right thing to say when it mattered. He was a master of the "Dad Jokes" and often made us groan and laugh when I would visit your house after school.
These are strange and uncertain times but if I was there I would give you all hugs if I could.
— Alison Tong

You will be dearly missed, Geoff. We'll miss your recollections from your life as a teacher, your incredible stories from working in aviation and your comments on your latest DIY projects which were always amazingly detailed. You showed us the intellectual power required to beat the toughest of crosswords and sudokus as well as the joy of doing them. We'll miss your sense of humour with your corny jokes and we'll remember fondly the numerous good times meeting up in Kinsale and Pembroke. But most of all, we'll miss you as a loving grandfather and father-in-law. Rest in peace.

"You saw art
In the planets and the stars
So bright amongst your dark night sky

You'd think
And I've known it ever since
That a universe lies in your eyes

Now your thoughts are far beyond
Where you don't recognise your own sun
All conversation's gone
It's just a vacuum of silence
But your star's still burning on
Though you can't show that it shines out

Oh, I wish I could see inside
Your constellation mind."

I remember you telling me about your brother, Gilbert, when you were both nearly adults. One year, in the winter, the snow was so bad in Macclesfield that the train that usually transported the milk churns couldn't run. So instead, you and Gilbert used a huge sled and dragged the milk churns through the snow and across fields to the main road so they could be taken to market.

Thank you for everything you taught me about the world, Grandad, and showing me that there is beauty is the smallest of unseen things. Rest in peace. Rosie x

Thank you everyone for your kind words and it’s lovely to know you’re all thinking of my Dad.
His chosen charity is the RNLI lifeboats as he was a keen sailor for many years. As I listen to the storm outside I think of those brave lifeboat men and women, and if you’d like to donate that would be wonderful.
Best regards, Sarah
