I worked with him in Keenan’s for six years up to the day it sadly closed he was a hard diligent conscientious worker but was always great fun and game for a bit of mischief , in later times I often met Him on the road and we would have a chat. George was a great help to me during my years as archdeacon in helping to fill the rota for Sunday worship in vacant parishes - sometimes at very short notice - but even then he often left me with the feeling that I had done HIM a favour rather than the other way round. That's the sort of man he was. He was held in the highest esteem around the diocese as a Diocesan Reader.
We are very sorry not to be able to attend his funeral as we are out of the country at the moment.
May he now rest in peace with his beloved wife Rona, daughter Leanne and brother Des, after a life well lived in the service of his Creator, family and a wide circle of friends.

Deepest sympathy to Niall and all members of the Kidd families on the loss of George. George joined Keenans in Bagenalstown about the same time as I did. So he, I and a few others are the last "survivors" of Keenans demise. Now there is one less. George showed great fortitude in finding jobs and an income when Keenans went - not easy in those times. I always enjoyed my chats with George and I'll miss him.
