GERARD COTT

So sad to learn of Ger's passing. He was a marvelous and inspirational teacher that connected so well with his students. He was a role model for me when I was in the CBS in the early 80's. RIP Gerard and thank you.

Gerard was my best and favourite teacher. I recently saw the film “Oppenheimer” and was transported back to his physics class, which was as much history as it was science. Similarly, I learned more about trigonometry and calculus in his class than in maths.

He is a great loss and you have my deepest sympathies. He made an immense contribution, and that should make you all proud.

Very sorry to hear of Gerard's passing from another past pupil.He was a great teacher and always gave sound and caring advice. He popped into my mind last week out of the blue while I was abroad. Sorry that I wasn't home in time for his reposing and funeral. Sincere sympathy to Denise and family.

As a past pupil , I can reflect back on how Gerard would try to bring out the best in us.
I am glad that years later i got to tell him how brilliant he was and how spoilt we were to have him.

Gerard could be hilariously funny whilest making his point and wouldn't spare anyone but he could also take a joke against himself.
He didnt just teach physics and chemistry, more so, he educated us in life around the teaching of those subjects.
He was always interesting and was part of the golden days that get us through the tougher times we face later on.
Rest in peace Gerard we were lucky to have you.
