To Orlaith, Helen and extended family. Only heard the devastating news of Gerry's passing today 4/10/22. Worked with Gerry for many years in DIT. A highly intelligent man, ahead of his time not only technologically but in societal attitudes and current thinking. Spoke so fondly of you Orlaith and the boys. He loved going to the end of year show in NCAD . So many students benefitted from his patience and generosity in time- and for final year students - M&S buns and sweets.
One of the very good ones as others have mentioned and perhaps on a higher plane for many to appreciate fully. May he rest in peace, hopefully in time his humour, quick wittedness and charm will live on in those who are experiencing the loss and grief of his passing. He will be missed- Ethna

Hi Orlaith
It is with extreme sadness that I heard of Gerry’s early passing.

Gerry was a beautiful & kind man and I enjoyed the time I spent with Gerry in Bolton street & socially.
Unfortunately I got a cancer diagnosis this year, treatable thankfully but my treatment day is on a Thursday & was unable to drop out in person to offer my condolences.
Our thoughts are with you all & sure you have many great memories to cherish Gerry.
Only the good die young.
All the best
