My sincere condolences to Gerry's wife Martina and family on behalf of myself, and my Dad Pat O'Halloran (retired Galway Bus Eireann driver).
As a student in the early 90's when I worked in the Bus Eireann cash office for two summers, I first met Gerry. He brought me home to Tuam many times on the bus then and after I left Bus Eireann. We had many a chat and a laugh as I sat up the front with him. He would tell me about his boat which was his hobby at the time. He was a wonderful man and a great friend to a young girl starting out in life. I have often thought of Gerry over the years and his kindness and that hearty laugh. I was very sad today to hear he had passed away. Rest in Peace my old friend, you will never ever be forgotten x
