I was never fortunate enough to meet Grainne in person - our paths crossed in the often distant world of internet gaming. The woman I met there was witty and creative, determined and caring. The art of 'Lougrass' was seen and applauded by tens of thousands, but more important was the community she created. Where gaming 'clans' can be self interested and less than welcoming Lougrass insisted on creating a family, a support structure and a safe place.
Grainne's passing leaves a hole in the lives of people across the globe. We mourn together and offer strength and love to family and friends who are in pain.

Simply known to us as Lou or Lougrass, although we may have only knew you online, you touched the hearts of everyone and were adored by us all. Such a wonderful soul, my sincere condolences to your family. You will forever live on in our hearts. May you now Rest in peace x

My sincere condolences to Grainne’s family on her passing. I knew Grainne since our time in LSU, Banagher and later through a friend we had in common. She was a beautiful person with the brightest light.

I hadn't heard back from Grainne in a while, which was unlike her. So sad to find her here, she was so full of life, art, optimism and humour. She was such great company, always an interesting conversation with her.

Wherever this message goes, Grainne, I'll miss you, thanks for being great and sorry for not getting your cola cao to you in time for Winter.
