Sad to hear of the passing of Henry after an illness borne with fortitude and acceptance. My first memories of Henry were as a very able goalkeeper with his native Red Hughs and later as our Postmaster at the Cross Post Office where, along with his dear departed brother, Eugene, they served the needs of the local community in a friendly and efficient manner. Henry was a gifted sketcher and artist and his many paintings and portraits are testiment to his unique ability in this sphere. In his younger days he was also an avid and constant author of letters to the local newspapers on matters pertaining to his beloved Finn Valley and always had the furtherance of his community to the fore. Although we lost him to his wifes home place of Annagry nearly thirty yesrs ago, his frequent visits "home" where he liked to socialise, will long be remembred.
Condolences to his wife, Mary, his brother , Michael, his sisters, Marie and Anne, and to the extended Bradley and Hanlon families. May he rest in prace.
Noel Slevin, Kilcadden.
