It is impossible to remember Hal and not think of a gentleman.

One of my strongest memories of Hal from growing up in Prospect was the sight of him up on the roof tethered to the chimney to clear gutters. If he wasn't there he was tirelessly tending to verges and manicuring lawns. If his devotion to caring for the physical home was any indication of the man he was in the home then the Starkens are blessed to have had the time that they did with him.

I have lots of great memories of Hal and Bernie having spent many holidays with them and their children. One memory is of Hal's sweet tooth, I know I always came home heavier than when I went. I blame you Hal for my love of biscuits. And of course I was delighted in 1969 when Bernie and Hal asked me to be Colin's Godmother.You will be missed so much but I'm so pleased I saw you in February. RIP Hal.
