Deepest sympathy to Herman’s family on their very sad loss. We always so enjoyed Herman’s company on our hikes in Wicklow and will always think of him whenever we take to the hills which he loved so much.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of our great friend and benefactor, Herman. For many years he contributed to our projects for the poor in Latin America, as indeed did his wife Margaret. Not only financially but with his business acumen he steered us through many choppy waters. Many poor people in Brazil, Colombia and Peru will be eternally grateful to him. We remember him dearly and offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I was lucky to enjoy Herman’s company, humour, dark chocolate and conversation on many a walk in Wicklow with a small group of friends. He was a vibrant, entertaining and sociable companion and I was saddened to hear of his death. Condolences to all his family and friends.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Herman. I had the privilege of working for Herman for many years. He was an intelligent, thoughtful, caring leader. A gentleman in every sense of the word who I will remember with great fondness.

So sad to hear of Herman’s passing. So many wonderful memories of singing together in Curtlestown choir. Especially when we had to write the phonetic versions of our Irish songs for him on St.Patrick’s day!

I knew Herman as a fellow member of the Curtlestown choir for many years and later as a parish council member and he was a really fine man of very great faith, drive and ability.
