I knew Howard from childhood, his mum and mine were friends and he used to go crown green bowling with my brother Jeff and my dad Jack Cunliffe in Garswood. He was an usher at our wedding and had to take from dad's sleeve the knife to cut the cake as it had been left at our house! From one sleeve to another. He did it so well I didn't know till much later. I well remember walking our dogs Cindy and Brandy together.
So sad he's been taken so soon, he will certainly be missed and remembered with fondness.
— Linda and Ian McCutcheon
