To the Daly & Maher family I have the fondest memories of Ivan since I first met him during our UCD years… Ivan was with me the day I first drove into town, I had just learned to drive & freaked out on Stephens Green with all the lanes of traffic… Ivan calmly took over the wheel of the car & rescued me that day… He used to make the most delicious toasted pitta bread, ham & Emmental sandwiches for his friends after nights out… He was such fun, had a great sense of humour & could make anyone feel comfortable in his company… He was an absolutely gorgeous person. I am so so sad for you all & the indescribable pain you are in. Ivan Daly rest in peace… and you all mind each other, one hour at a time…

Whilst all I am doing is echoing the words of other people here, it still warrants being said that Ivan was a gentleman. He was fun, charming, competitive, generous, decent and kind.
