Rosemary, Suzi, & Jill,

Our deepest condolences on Jack's passing. We feel lucky to have known such a funny, charming, generous, and loving man. He was one of life's true gentlemen - no matter who he met, their lives were made deeply richer for him being in it.

We can’t imagine the loss you’re feeling, but hope that all the love and shared memories temper the heartache. We're thinking of you always.

Fair winds, Jack.
— Philip Meagher & Steph Morley
I know Jack through Sailing Race Management mostly. Great fun to be around, always made the day interesting, with jokes, cracks and pranks. The cocktail sausages from a flask on a cold frostbite morning, were always welcome.
A memory that keeps jumping into my mind, during an event in Dun Laoghaire, where Jack alleged that both Ed and myself must be blind, for not being able to see the starting boats that were clearly over the line. The next day the prank was turned back on Jack, with the mark boat arriving out to the race area, with probing white sticks and darkened glasses, searching for the Committee boat, with crew that clearly could not see so well.
You will be sadly missed Jack. My thoughts go out to Rosemary and fmaily at this difficult time.
— John McNeilly

His passing is a real blow to Irish sailing and the many people that knew him, locally, nationally and on the International stage.
