Sorry to hear of the sudden passing of James upon my return from down the country. Please accept our sincere condolences and sympathy to all the family, over the years while working as Sports and Recreation Co-ordinator in St Raphael's I found James to be very accommodating when we had to go to various venues for sports training and events. He will be sadly missed by all. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family on this sad occasion.

So saddened to hear of James passing. My deepest sympathies are with Edwina and the Birchall family. James took great care to deliver us safely to and from school for many years. And then took on the mighty task of ferrying us as teenagers to various discos. Himself and Edwina always ensured no one was left behind and that we all arrived home safely. Our paths crossed later in life as he continued to provide the same care and service to the next generation. A true gent and pillar of the community that will be dearly missed. RIP James.

I have such fond memories of the school run, James always had us laughing, singing Diana Ross, or just simply getting us to run into the shop for ice creams on the way home on sunny days, we always had great craic going to and from school.
