Only heard of Jack's untimely death at an eircom retirement function to night. Jack was a really genuine person and was a great friend to those of us who worked with him in Telephone House and St. Stephen's Green.

(Sean Creedon - ex Eircom)
— Sean Creedon
My deepest sympathy on the passing of Jack. He was without doubt on of life's true gentlemen. Always enjoyed meeting him and the usual Dublin/Kerry banter that followed. His advice on work matters was always worth heeding. May he rest in God's peace.
— Pat Conway (ex eircom)

Valerie and Family so sorry to hear your sad news ....have great memories of my time working with Jack ... great boss .... and often quote him ... may he rest in peace.
— Lucy Enright (ex Eircom)
Valerie and family. Like Maeve, Dave & Phyllis, I too had the honour and pleasure of working with Jack in eircom in St. Stephen's Green. We all benefited from his grace, knowledge and manner. I only met him two months ago in a cafe in Ballsbridge and he was, as usual, in fine form. I was shocked to hear yesterday afternoon, of his passing on Tuesday. Although, the term "one of life's true gentlemen", is widely used, in this case, Jack deserved it to be said of him and much more. Deepest sympathies to you, Valerie, and all of the family at this very sad time. Stephen
— Stephen O'Reilly
My deepest sympathy to you Valerie and family on the passing of Jack. He was my manager in Cumberland House in the early 80's and he was a pleasure to meet every day, I have never forgotten him. I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Jack's sudden passing, may he rest in peace.
— John Pattwell (ex Eircom Portlaoise)

Jack was a true gentleman, a great family man and an exceptional athlete. Jack was a talented, smart, witty, incisive person, who also always willing to offer first-rate advise in a supportive and constructive manner.

Ach tagann an bás nuair is lugha a bhíonn coinne leis, agus ní raibh - agus ní bheidh - a leithéid ann.

Our sincere condolences to you Valarie, to Rachel, Kevin, John, Brian and Luke and all the family - he will always be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
