My sincere sympathy to you Elizabeth and your family
on the passing of Jim.May he rest in peace.
Maura.
— Maura Reynolds Belton
I was saddened to learn of Jim's passing.

Jim was quite often sitting in the lounge area of the spacious recreational room when I visited my late Mum (Sadie) in Marymount. He had a brilliant grin which lit up the area around him.

I noticed this on more than one occasion when a therapy dog was visiting after lunch and residents were sitting in the lounge. Jim would ask the carer for another biscuit with a big brilliant smile. Everyone nearby knew that the biscuit was for the dog. Of course, the carer gave Jim the biscuit which Jim promptly gave to the dog with that big brilliant smile of his. Happy times.

To Elizabeth and to all the McCarthy family I offer my sincere condolences on the passing of dear Jim. Jim was my Lucan Sarsfields manager for over 10 years from the 1980s where I played with Kevin and later Fintan. Jim would have loved Teamer. I remember the hand delivered photocopied note coming through the door every week with all the details of upcoming games. A huge amount of work and always with a smile. And we never got lost looking for an obscure pitch – Jim had reccied the place beforehand. May he Rest In Peace.
