Sincerest condolences to the McGovern family on the sad passing of Jim RIP. He was a great GAA man and was a regular in Parnell Park watching Dublin club games or in Croke Park but Leitrim was in his heart. Many teams, clubs, players and counties benefited from his hospitality. Jim had some wonderful stories and was one of those individuals that made you feel better after having a conversation. He was a warm, generous, friendly host of "The Goblet" and he will be sadly missed by his many customers over the years.
I feel the word gentleman is an over used and almost meaningless description these days; but NOT in Jim's case. He was one of natures true gentlemen and a genuinely lovely man.
Not forgetting of course, that he was an encyclopedia on The GAA !!
Jim, we'll miss you forever.
