Sorry to read this today. Remember Mr Ellickson for his kindnesses shown to my family, particularly my mother after dad passed away all those years ago. Left a young widow with five mouths to feed, she desperately needed help and found it in the form of this lovely, quietly spoken man. Nothing was too much bother and she often labelled him " her knight in shining armour". He called to see her on a regular basis even after he retired and it was better than a visit from the bishop in her eyes. In mam's own words" that Mr Ellickson's a wonderful man"
My sincere condolences to the family. I'll light a candle in his memory in thanks for his help to so many.
.

To Tony's sorrowing Children, loving brother,Dominic & his wife & family, to Tony's daughter-in-law, sons in law, and to all the grandchildren, to those who have journeyed closely with the Ellickson family, I offer you my deepest sympathies. Those we love don't go away. Both Tony and Pat are and always will be with you in your heart, their love for you and yours for them continuing to yield a rich harvest.
Pat and Tony, all of us have been blessed to have met either one or both of you. Your gentleness, kindness, friendship, patience in all encounters has supported, encouraged, clothed in dignity, so many of us. Yours was a match made in Heaven. Now, Tony and Pat are together in Heaven and will continue to love, inspire and guide their family and all who knew and remember their absolute Christian witness and the effect it had on so many, expressed or treasured silently in hearts. I had the privilege of knowing them both through working with Tony. Rest in Peace.

Most sincere condolences to the Ellickson family on the passing of Tony and in particular to Christine and Teresa who were such good friends of our girls. Tony was a true gentleman and we will never know the full extent of his kindnesses down the years both through his work and otherwise. We feel sure that the family will be heartened and comforted by the wonderful tributes that have been paid to Tony which you will treasure as part of his memory. Tim & Ann Howard Tramore.
— Tim Howard
My sincere sympathies to the Ellickson family on Tony’s death. He was a gentle, caring man, whose work as a Community Welfare Officer epitomised the very best of public service. Our paths crossed very briefly, as my first day working as a summer relief, was Tony’s retirement day. Nonetheless, on that day, I got the benefit of his wisdom and saw his compassion, when I sought his advice on a particular case.
I know that in his role as C.W.O., Tony strove to do the very best for those who needed a helping hand and I pray that he is already enjoying the heavenly reward that is so well earned. May Tony rest in peace.
— Anne Galvin, Piltown, Co Kilkenny

Dear Teresa, Katherine, James and Christine and all our cousins, we send our sincerest sympathies for the loss of your Father and Uncle. Tony was loved by so many and is remembered by us as a gentleman and the kindest soul. He truly was a peacemaker and the funeral mass captured his character and attributes beautifully. When Sean told us of his passing, Marian reminisced of one story of Tony. When our daughter was young she had a serious illness. At the height of her illness Tony arranged a 24 hour prayer vigil, praying for Georgia's "full and final healing." His prayers were, of course, answered which we are all tremendously grateful for. We are thinking of you at this time. Love to all.
— Denis, Marian and Georgia Ellickson

Dear Christine, Teresa, James and Katherine, it would be amiss if I did not write on the sad passing of your Dad, as my wife Inna had the pleasure, later in his life , of helping him as one of his carers. You should be immensely proud of your Dad, and we have no doubt he of all of you. True love demands eternity, we are told of the promises of Christ, and therein with all confidence it is known your Dad rests with your Mom, Pat. God bless and keep that wonderful legacy of love, family, kindness alive.

My sincere condolences to all the Ellickson family on the sad passing of Tony. I will never forget his kindness, understanding, and good nature, when I fell on hard times, with a young family to rear, back in 1985 in Tramore. He granted me a medical card. Times were very tough, back then, and jobs were scarce. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony, through my work, a few years ago, and thankfully I got to thank him for helping me all those years ago, and told him he was a gentleman. I will never forget his kindness. A truly remarkable gentleman. May you get the best bed in heaven Tony. Ar dheis de go raibh a Anam.
