We were saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Jamie
Our sincere sympathy to Maureen, Declan and all the family at this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Safe in the arms of Jesus.
— Billy & Veronica Deane
My Deepest sympathies to all the O'Mahony family. I was extremely fortunate to start in FD the same week as Jamie many years ago & subsequently be sent to both London & NY at similar times. I feel very lucky to have been able to call him a friend. He was of course the life of the party, someone who managed to light up any room he entered. But Jamie was exceptionally kind to anyone he met, highly intelligent & articulate, inclusive and I believe had no bad bone in his body...he never spoke poorly of anyone or anything in the time I knew him, which is such an outstanding show of character. He will live long in my memory as a friend I was fortunate to share some of the best experiences between holidays together with friends, London & NY.
He will be missed dearly by all. May he rest in peace.
— Craig Duffy

Sincerest sympathies to the O'Mahony family on the loss of beautiful Jamie. I met Jamie in energy engineering UCC and have so many fond memories. We were final year project partners and spent many hours and days together down in Tyndall. Jamie had incredible work ethic, great determination to do his best and not be defeated by anything, least of all C# code or a giant lunchbox of chicken, brocolli and pasta. Jamie was also very caring and generous - sharing his knowledge, encouragement and quick wit with those around him.
I delighted in seeing Jamie excel and take on the world, and always looked forward to catching up at our Christmas class gatherings - the way he'd stride in with a big smile and booming laugh.
He'll be sorely missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Jamie x

I didn’t personally know your boy … however his passing touched me hugely which caught me by surprise… my son worked for FD and met/lived briefly with Jamie at one stage and I recall him telling me that he met a really sound lad from cork. At the time my son was going through a tough time and his encounter with Jamie albeit brief made a lasting impression on him and helped him through a difficult period. Jamie I guess like all who shine extra bright in this world live a very full life In the short time they have as if it’s a given that they’re time is limited … you will all miss him terribly, but what a legacy he left behind. Well done to you the parents for giving life to such a rare and gifted man.. Rest peacefully Jamie and thank you for touching my life through my beautiful boy x

I was fortunate enough to have known Jamie across a few settings of his life- first in the class room at Ucc, college road, electric picnic, various astro turfs, Bali, Spain, London and New York - each of which he filled with his larger than life personality. I also believe I saw him a few times in the gym.

I knew him as a fierce competitor, challenging all his friends and we all benefited from this in various ways. He popularized several “mantra” style sayings, encapsulating his ferocity towards life, some of which we still use ten plus years on, independently of him, a tribute/legacy he would have hoped for.

Never afraid to call it as he saw it, which reflected his limitless sense of resolve, confidence and determination. With this came a comforting sense of familiarity and warmth to those he befriended.

Although I hadn’t met him in two years due to the pandemic but interacted most weeks even if it was just him replying with his favourite gorilla emoji.

He always spoke with a strong sense of pride of his family, Ballintotis, and Cork. My sincere sympathy goes to his family, for which this must be an unbelievably difficult time.

He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

To Maureen, Declan, Patrick, Brian, Claire, and relatives,

I met Jamie through my brother Killian, back when they studied energy engineering in UCC. We had the pleasure of having Jamie at the house on many occasions during those years. Whether it was discussing the craic of the night before, or a quiet conversation about his adventures in London and New York in the years that followed, every interaction with Jamie was a joy.

Our family was deeply saddened to hear of Jamie’s passing and convey our deepest condolences for the loss of your amazing son and brother, who shone so bright. As he did in life, may he continue to walk with the light in his resting place.
