Like many people I first met Jim in Mount Pleasant over 25 years ago. Jim took part in loads of different kinds of sport and activities besides tennis, he even went dancing! I have very fond memories of going to ballroom dance classes with him in Rathmines and actually dancing the vienesse waltz.

One of the signs of a true friend to me though is when they turn up not just for life's happy events but for the tough ones as well - and Jim turned up, a true friend and I'll always be grateful to have known him.

He'll be sorely missed by so many. Sending sincere sympathy to his family and may his gentle soul rest in peace. Linda.
— Linda Drochmann
