My deepest condolences to all Jimmy's family. I have very fond memories of working with Jimmy in the Valuation office from the end of 1981 until he retired. Jimmy was my first boss and I learned so much from him. Jimmy was unique, funny (sometimes inadvertently) very very smart and independent minded. Jimmy could be shy and often switched to saying things in Irish to make it easier for himself. Probably the most welcome Irish phase Jimmy used was at end of the office's annual Christmas party "beidh leath lá againn amarach". Jimmy was encouraging when it came to trying something new at work and showed a real open-mindedness. The office under Jimmy's direction had a strong collegiality, work ethic and a great sense of fun. Again, my condolences on his passing.
