Sincere condolences on the passing of gentleman Jim. I have many fond memories of playing table tennis with and hearing stories from Jim in Waterford.
Sincere condolences to Jim's family. He was my coach at Waterford Institute of Technology back in 2010, 11 and 12. He was a very nice and kind hearted person. Wish I could have met him again and show him how I have improved.
My deepest sympathies to Lilo, Miriam and Gillian and the Sheehan family. I have the fondest memories of Jim and will miss him greatly. He was a great colleague and Instructor and a wonderful friend. Marie and I will miss meeting up with him in Cahir House for lunch.

On behalf of the President, the Board of Directors and Members throughout the country, we at Table Tennis Ireland were all deeply saddened to learn of Jim’s death. Others have already written beautifully about his distinguished table tennis career and, more importantly, his many fine personal qualities. We very much wish to endorse these comments and to recognise that we are all the poorer for his passing. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Jim had died. We first met when we both worked for AnCO (pre-FAS) and it was a huge pleasure to meet up again through the vets table tennis tournaments, 40 years later! He was a lovely human being and I know will be missed by all who knew him.

I enjoyed all the stories and laughs, and didn't mind losing every game to Jim as he was great company. A true gentleman who will be missed. Rest in peace Jim

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. A gentleman, he’ll be missed at the tournaments. I shared a room with him when the VETT’s 6 Nations were last played in Dublin. I found it difficult to get any sleep - ‘Norman did I ever tell you about the time.......’ And then he was off! Sleep well my friend. RIP

my deepest sympathy's go out to Jim's family at this time. It was a pleasure to be coached by Jim in table tennis in WIT, he was a gentleman may he rest in piece.
Such a gentleman who took us all in. From the first time playing table tennis with him he was always welcoming, always had a story along with always up for a good laugh. He was always willing to help and was willing to trust myself and my close friends to take over from him in the Table tennis club at WIT. Can't thank him enough for everything he did in the short time that I knew him, but will never forget him. Big love and condolences from us all
Very sorry to hear this news. I played table tennis with and against Jim many times. He always gave his best and I had many good games against him. Jim was a member of the Irish veterans team, together with Tommy Caffrey and myself when we won the gold medal in the Home Nations championships.

I have a great many memories of table tennis training with “the two Jimmy’s” and traveling around the country playing in competitions in the 80’s.
