Joan Durney

Sending my deepest condolences to Joan's family on their loss. I was lucky enough to train with Joan as one of the Irish Cancer Society Patient Advocacy Champions. Her passion and drive for change for others was inspirational as she faced into such a difficult time. She brought warmth and light to our training sessions and of course never joined the call without her signature red lipstick. She will be truly missed and has touched the lives of so many.

Deepest condolences to all Joan’s family and close friends. I had the pleasure of training as a patient advocate with Joan at the Irish Cancer Society earlier this year. She was such a warm, beautiful lady in the face of adversity and we all learned so much from her. She had a great knack for how she shared her story and experiences. She joined every call with lipstick on which I grew to learn was a sign of her strength and her willingness to make the most of every situation. I for one will be thinking of her as we continue our advocacy work. Wishing you all the strength you need to get through this sad time.
