Knew both Joe and you Cathy from Drogheda & Dundalk Dairies (now Glanbia) where Joe made his mark during his time there. He was a hugely skilled manager who was very highly thought of and is remembered with great fondness.

Cathy, we are immensely sad to learn of Joe’s untimely passing and send you and the family our condolences and best wishes.

Ah, how sad this is, to see my personable, hugely-talented Classmate, Joe Callery, prematurely depart this life!

Joe came to the O'Connell Schools in September 1961 (from Scoil Mhuire, Marino) and very quickly established himself as a bright, intelligent Scholar, as a capable Footballer, as someone who had a sharp, insightful Wit.

Personally, I had many extremely enjoyable nights, in my late Teens, playing Poker with Joe & other OCS Comrades at his home on Celtic Park Avenue, and post Scoil Uí Chonaill, was fortunate to enjoy his always amiable company elsewhere.

Like many of Joe's Classmates, I shall miss him greatly : ar dheis Dé go raibh a Anam Uasal!

My sincere & heartfelt sympathies to Cathy, to Joe's Daughters, to Brothers Paddy & Frank + Joe's extended Family
— Raymond Cass

We were all greatly saddened to learn of the untimely death of our dear Classmate, Joe.

From our days together @ O'Connell Schools, Nth. Richmond Street, we knew Joe as a talented Scholar, as a capable Footballer - and as an irrepressible Wit. In later years, we were fortunate to enjoy his constantly amiable company at our Class Reunions, which he loyally supported : we will all miss him hugely !

Nor the furious winters rages
Thou thy worldly task hast done
