Uncle Joe, may you rest in peace. You will be missed and remembered so fondly for your buzzing energy, your enthusiasm, your stories, the connection you gave us to the past and our ancestors/family who've gone before us. The loss is extra sad as you were always a lovely reminder of our own Dad, your brother John, with similar mannerisms and hands! I'll always remember your style, your strength and how interested you were in the world around you. I'll miss your emails, I owed you one from just last week! I will always remember yourself and Dad making a dash from the parade ring at the Curragh to study the horses travel down to the stalls, where your big decisions were made! We are so lucky to have had you as an Uncle, thank you.

Dear Auntie Bernie, Ann, Peter, Garrett and Robbie, I am so sorry that I'm not with you for the funeral. My sincere sympathy for this massive loss for you all. I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to seeing you when our paths cross next in the US or in Ireland.
