Very sadly we heard of Tony’s passing. Tony will be remembered by his fellow friends and board directors as a shining light in the history of Crann. Tony was not only passionate about trees, he was fascinated by them and was a Master of arboreal knowledge. Tony’s great achievement without question was his devotion to the Californian Redwoods. These he would honour with an idea which he only can be credited with, the Giants Grove at Birr Castle. On behalf of the Board of Crann – Trees for Ireland, its members and associates we send our sincere condolences to Loraine and Tony’s family. We wish Tony a fond farewell. May he Rest in Peace.
— Peadar Collins, Chairman, Crann - Trees for Ireland
