I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Johnny, and heartfelt condolences to Catherine, Elaine and the extended Baldwin and Mc Carthy families. I was very fortunate to be in Johnny's company during one of the walks during the Gathering Festival of 2013. He entertained us all that morning with great stories and folklore about Knockanore and surrounding areas. He also told me that my Dad, Charlie Daly, used to cut his hair when he was a young lad. A man of great humility, respect and intelligence, Johnny will be very much missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of his wonderful company. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-Anam dilis.
