Condolence to the Bruton family on the death of John which I was sad to hear. John made major contribution to Irish and European affairs. He said and did things that were not popular at the time and as now they were necessary and correct. He had great vision unlike other policitations He laid the foundations for the Celtic Tiger and with then British Prime Minister John Major laid the foundations for the Good Friday Agreement. It is a pity he did not get credit and praise he deserved when he was alive. Tim O Sullivan Glengarriff and Cork City.

Sincere sympathy to all the Bruton and extended family on the sad passing of your beloved John.
On Saturday last I sat for four hours and followed the funeral mass and internment of of such a wonderful politican as
John Bruton. What time well spent. I would love to have been there in person but that was not possible. Once again on Sunday I sat for a similar length and read all the lovely articles in the papers so anything I missed on TV was caught up on in print. I am very sorry at John's passing but will treasure his fantastic work and commitment to our country.
Rest in peace John.

My condolences on John's passing. I first met John in Clongowes in '62, as a new boy wandering around a dormitory, I was not supposed to be in. Having been challenged by more senior pupils as to why I was in their area, John intervened and showed me where I should be. I always recall his kind but strong voice. We would come across each other during the following years in school, he would always say hello. That memory has always remained.
I hope your family's sense of loss and sorrow will in time be replaced by fond and loving memories.
