No words could possibly describe the sense of loss which the aviation community shares with the Finnan family. John was such a careful, competent and experienced aviator it is incomprehensible how this tragedy has happened. His drole sense of humour will be sadly missed but John will never be forgotten. Soar high John!

Very sad to learn of the tragic and untimely death of a dear friend. There is a candle burning in John's memory in a church in Milwaukee. May he rest peacefully.
