We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear today of the news of Johns passing. We have very happy memories of him and all the Glenny family from days when living in Holywood Park. I was completely shocked and deeply saddened to read of John's passing. By first thoughts and prayers are with Michelle and Rebecca, and also the wider Glenny family - in particular Liz and his mum Anne. Since I first met John when he was living with Liz in Farnborough in the 1980's and then professionally over the decades with Merc, John was always so friendly, supportive and genuine. He will be missed by his family, colleagues and the many people that he met over the years. Rest in Peace John.

It is with deep regret that I found out about John's passing. We were housemates together at Maynooth University back in the day. Such a nice, measured, even tempered guy. Lovely subtle sense of humour. So glad to have had him as a friend.
Enjoyed his company again more recently and I'm glad to say, he had never changed a bit!
