My deepest sympathies to Karen and all of John's family on his sudden passing. John was one of the kindest, funniest and gentlest men I was lucky enough to know.
— Clodagh Moran
Dear Taryn, Liam, Lucy, Kate and family,
Your world has been shattered. My deepest sympathies and best wishes for the year ahead. I worked with John closely in Sherry Fitz and he was always upbeat and full of positive energy. He really cared about people and he was a great manager. His love for you just oozed from him and was worn on his sleeve. We felt like we knew you all from his regular updates. We knew he was a wonderful dad and husband. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. May he rest in peace.
— Aoife Wallace

He was such a proud husband and dad. He loved sharing stories of all his children’s achievements of which there were so many! And we all loved seeing photos from birthdays and other celebrations in the Granville household.
I am so sorry for your devastating loss, he loved you all so much. My thoughts are with you all.
May he rest in peace x

My deepest condolences to all of John's family and friends. It was a privilege to work with and to get to know John at Ulster Bank. John was always positive, upbeat and annoyingly energetic. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and nothing was ever a problem. He made me feel guilty about how much he did as a husband, Dad, DIY expert and yet still found time for the gym! He will be missed by all who were lucky to know him. RIP John.
— Jonathan Kirwan

It is with a deep sadness that I write this short note of sympathy. I had the great good fortune to be John’s first class teacher nearly 40 years ago. I have read each condolence and realize that John grew into the man he was destined to be even then, a strong, sincere, kind, good humored, loving, and caring human being. All those traits were in John from an early age. I and his classmates, at St. Patrick’s College National School, were lucky to have shared that year with John. I send my sincere condolences to his wife and family.

May John Rest in Peace.
