Since condolences on your sad loss, John was such a gentleman who I remember from many visits to the shop. No trip to castlerea was complete without popping in to John where you always got a great welcome, may he rest in peace

John was one of the great characters in Castlerea, a true gentleman in life who, along with Oonagh, owned and ran one of the great iconic businesses in town where manys an item was bought during our youth. John's knowledge of music, both locally and beyond, was legendary and manys the single / album was bought in Hunt's shop to be brought home and spun immediately....great memories of John RIP.

Deeply regret the passing of John, a man I remember from a very young age who was always a gentleman and a very decent human being.

John always had the rare ability to improve everyone's day whether you were buying a record, cassette tape, gift, musical instrument or just met him on the street. My parents bought me my first bicycle there and I have always held that memory dear. Over the years as an adult I visited the shop many times and always felt the the same warmth and welcome as I had back then. Oonagh and John...a wonderful team...lord reward him for all his endeavours and comfort you left to mourn his loss.

Great memories of calling into his shop years ago where we bought a keyboard - a big purchase at the time so we thought - he never pushed you to buy.
He had a lovely well stocked shop with lots of nice Jewellery, China, Tapes/Cd's etc.
He played at my parents 50th wedding anniversary 2003 in Morgan's Function Room Williamstown & he was entertaining & fantastic.
