I first met my father in law Jack, on the 17th March 1993 St Patrick’s day some 30 years ago, it was the same night I met my darling wife Catherine. Jack, Kathleen, and the whole family treated me like a member of their family from the day I met them.

Jack, was very supportive when my own parents passed away many years ago. I actually knew Jack, as long as my own father. Jack, was in every sense of the word a kind soul and a proper gentleman. His entire family meant the whole world to him.

As a family, with my wife Catherine, and his grandchildren Ciara, & Niall, would spend many happy times together in Ireland and England. Memories that we will cherish forever more.

Jack, fought with fortitude this terrible disease, he was as you would expect stoic until the end. He leaves behind the love of his life Kathleen, his children Catherine, Derek, Eleanor and Caroline. His grandchildren Ciara, Jack, Aislin, Aoife, Ella, Niall, Emily, Daniel and Phillip.

Jack, I will miss you terribly, our conversations on the exploits of Man United were legendary.

Our loved ones who have passed are never dead until we forget them – we will never ever forget you Jack.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the sun always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may god hold you in the palm of his hand.

May perpetual light shine upon him

To know Jack was an absolute privilege.
To hear him sing was other worldly.
Jack was a pure gentleman and I know Kathleen will be heartbroken, as are all the family.
I met Jack first when he dropped Catherine to the Nurses home in Orpington circa 1989, accompanied also by Caroline. Over the years Jack and Kathleen visited regularly and how lucky were we to have many a wonderful evening spent in Jack and Kathleen's company hosted by Paul, Catherine Ciara and Niall. You have our heartfelt sympathy.
May God shine a light on his gentle soul.
