We were so sorry to hear of John death. Worked with him in the Bons Secours. I have great memories of our times there. I met up with John regularly and would go to botanic Gardens. He loved nature. We used to have great chats. May he rest in peace, and condolences to his family and friends and neighbours. God bless you John. Brid @ John

My deepest condolences to all Johnny's family on his sad loss. I was so sorry to hear the news. I have such happy memories of ringing with Johnny and Jimmy Reynolds in John's Lane. The memories are strong although it seems like a long time ago. Big John was always such a friendly presence and a wonderful one-of-a-kind character. It was always a pleasure to be in his company, for ringing or chat in the tower, or afterwards for 'refreshments'. It was a great comfort to be able to watch the service online. Well done to everyone who took part and shared their precious memories. He will live long in our memories, may he rest in peace. Heather

Very very sorry to hear about the death of Big Johnny Kane as he was known to me and other friends. I first met Big Johnny in Willy Ryan's of Parkgate St, when I was 21 years old, 45 years later we were still great friends. He was certainly one of life's gentlemen and many a great time I and his great friend Peter spent together, trying to get a 33/1 ellusive winner. May you rest in peace Johnny and wherever you are over that bridge, I'm sure you will be ringing joyous bells.
