We knew John for many years , we had pitches next to each other at the Fethard bookfair. Condolences to Jane and all the family, John was a gentleman.

We were so sad to hear that your Dad had passed Jane. He was great company and a lovely man and I will raise a glass to him in Dalkey in memory of the craic the 3 of us had in Finnegans! He is with your Mum now, smiling down on you, eternally grateful for the wonderful care you gave them both. Sincere condolences to you, John and Alan.

I know how deeply sad you all are at this time. John was such an amazing man and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Jane, I’ve known your wonderful Dad since I was seven. He showed me such kindness and care my whole life. I’ll always remember the Saturday night dinners in Heather Hill with John and Mary when we came home from college, chatting and laughing over plates of her legendary curry. He always had a winkle in his eye as he looked at you from under one of his very elegant hats. He loved people and their stories and remembered everything, all the little details. He was so special, may he rest in peace with his beautiful Mary Frances.

Sincere condolences to all the family. I only heard yesterday of Johns passing. Very sad news. Many a good chat I had with John over the years , from Russell court to the Railway, The book fair in Fethard etc etc. it was always an enriching experience to meet John whom I considered my friend. John had a wonderful attitude to life . He was very proud of his children. Thinking of John jr , Jane ,Alan and all the family at this sad time

It is so sad that beautiful, kind, gentle John has passed away. He was a gorgeous man, just one in a million. Jane, I will always remember hanging out in Russell Court after school when we were kids and the craic we had helping him at his stall at the Clonmel Fleadh. He is with his lovely Mary now but will always be with you too. May he rest in peace.

I am very sorry for your loss. John was a Clonmel legend to me. I always enjoyed the Clonmel Miscellany when it arrived to us at Christmas. It meant at lot be me living abroad all those years. It was an honour helping him lay out one of the issues. He will forever be a be a curator of the history of Clonmel.

It was very sad to hear of John’s passing. He was a true gent and the embodiment of a Clonmel man. I’ll always have great memories of snooping around the shop as a kid. Sincerest condolences Jane, John and Alan. Thinking of you from afar.

Deepest sympathy John was one of the greatest business men in clonmel in his day he ran auctions and told us all he was selling famiĺy heirlooms and when i challenged him saying i had no more walls to hang his precious paintings he said to hang them on the outside of the house john started our clonmel radio got the licence and we all invested a small some of money for the start up this was returned to us later we now have a vibrant Tipp FM thanks to John vision the boy form moyglass gave much to clonmel during his manhood condolence to your family john.
