Just heard of John's passing, I would have attended his funeral. I thought a lot of John and I was his clerk taking names of people for the photo's that John took at the dances in his early days of his career in photography. I remember he gave me 10 shillings for my help and that was the same wages I got per week in my electrical apprentship with Alan j Dunne, so I was very happy doing this job. I also remember connecting an extractor fan in the hut he used as a dark room. My deepest sympathy to all the family and may he rest in peace.
